Key Responsibilities:
Working as an Landside Transportation Operations Leader, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and continuously improving inland transportation operations from port to city, intercity, and hinterland, ensuring safe, cost‑efficient, and reliable cargo delivery.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Building and managing strong relationships with trucking suppliers and vendors, including contract and performance management
- Planning and executing transport operations, optimizing capacity utilization
- Driving continuous improvement of first‑mile processes to enhance service levels, on‑time delivery, and customer experience
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and regulatory requirements
- Supervising vendor performance to ensure safe, timely, and cost‑effective cargo delivery
- Identifying operational and commercial improvement opportunities, including triangulation and productivity optimisation
- Managing owned and leased assets, including lease administration and maintenance oversight
- Driving adherence to governance, security, and IT standards
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high‑performing Landside execution team
- Collaborating closely with Customer Service, Sales, Finance, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated outcomes
Who are we looking for?
- In‑depth knowledge of the West Africa Landside transportation market, with strong exposure to Ivory Coast
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand cost drivers, service levers, and commercial implications
- Demonstrated ability to interpret P&L performance and translate financial insights into operational and strategic actions
- Proven leadership track record, with experience managing, motivating, and developing teams
- Clear understanding of service level management and its impact on customer satisfaction and profitability
- Ability to identify and pull the right operational and commercial levers to optimize cost, service, and network performance
- Strong cross‑functional awareness, with the ability to work effectively with Customer Service, Sales, Finance, and Operations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills in a matrix organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
- Confidence to constructively challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively in diverse and inclusive environments
