Information Security Intern

General Summary
The Information Security team provides services and solutions to protect the value and use of LAIKA’s information through risk assessment, audit of compliance, data governance and standardization, and education across the studio. The Information Security Intern will gain valuable “hands on” experience and training by working in collaboration with  skilled professionals on the systems and tools used to build and deploy custom applications in a dynamic feature film production environment.   

Job Functions 

  • Work with the security engineers and technical staff on a variety of projects including unit test development, code base refactoring, configuration and dependency management, and application development.
  • Perform technical assessment and code reviews in a variety of languages while adhering to best practices pertaining to use of style guides, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Work with the Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts on software requests assessments, SOC and Pen test reports analysis, and data governance. 
  • Complete independent projects including research and integration of new 3rd party tools. 

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college/university, or graduated within the last 12 months, with a focus in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant areas of study; recent Computer Science or Engineering-related certificates from non-degree programs also accepted.   
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, C++, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of data structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in, and experience with, full stack software development, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

Salary 
$20.00/hour set rate, non-negotiable
