About the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED)
The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employees and job seekers in order to enhance and promote the local economy. Position Overview:
The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) is seeking an experienced Industry Specialist to support the Roads to Careers program. This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with skilled trades, unions, and registered apprenticeship programs. The role connects participants to high-demand opportunities and helps ensure access to training and long-term career pathways.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in relationship building, detail-oriented, and highly knowledgeable about coordinating services and skilled trade industries.
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the skilled trades (HVAC, Welding, Electrical, Construction, CDL-related fields, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and hands-on industry experience.
At least 3 years of experience in workforce development and apprenticeship systems.

Background Check
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
Probation
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
