Maintenance Mechanic
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Position Overview
Join H.B. Fuller as a Maintenance Mechanic, where you’ll ensure the reliability and safety of plant equipment and systems. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and support production efficiency. You’ll work collaboratively with the maintenance team to maintain a safe, clean, and productive environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment
Execute preventive maintenance to reduce production downtime
Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and parts usage
Inspect plant systems to identify and prevent failures
Operate forklifts and other lifts safely after training
Follow OSHA and plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout
Assist with HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks
Train and support other maintenance team members
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of industrial mechanical experience
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information
Basic computer skills (MS Office, internet)
Preferred Requirements
Familiarity with CMMS and preventive maintenance practices
Certification in refrigeration or HVAC systems
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming
Skills in pipefitting, plumbing, or machining
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $30.72/hr.In addition to your salary, H.B.
