Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5904200 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to current on-board (Tenure 1, 2 and 3) US Federal employees interested in helping the Department of the Air Force/Army meet our mission requirements as a Industrial Hygiene Technician. PCS- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLANG BUS Code NG0523: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 86 and the President is Mr. Robert Morgan at rmorgan@actnat.com MINIMUM EDUCATION: Must have completed a 4 year course of study which lead to a bachelor's degree, with a major or at least 24 semester hours in the technical field of industrial hygiene or public/occupational health YOU MUST UPLOAD TRANSCRIPTS WITH YOUR APPLICATION, WHICH ARE LEGIBLE WITH SCHOOL AND STUDENT INFORMATION- AND CLEARLY SHOW THE COMPLETION OF THE REQUIRED COURSES. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-08 must have at least one year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public/occupational sector which provided a working knowledge of public/occupational health missions, organizations, programs and requirements of public/occupational health systems. Experience involved in performing or assisting with a varied range of workplace health or bioenvironmental activities. Experience interpreting various policies and procedures used in state military public/occupational health programs.
