Indirect Material Planner

JOB SUMMARY:

The Indirect Planner serves as the dedicated resource to indirect planning activities within the plant including indirect material, indirect processes, and logistics.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inbound shipments packing slip investigations
  • Manage the returnable packaging for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Freight claim processing and tracking
  • Warehouse Gemba walks to facilitate warehouse improvements
  • Manage the expense consumable item inventories and procure the materials
  • Manage the premium freight process, seek approvals, and track the premium freight spend.
  • Manage the Vendor Managed Relationship Suppliers i.e. Corrugate, Pallets, Additional Dunnage, Ect.
  • Lead the skid yard Gemba walks to facilitate5S and cost minimization
  • Collaborates with Finance, Quality, Operations, Planning, and Receiving to document the history, root cause, and submit the chargebacks.
  • Daily receiving reconciliations for accounting
  • Collaborate with Operations and MRO to streamline the incoming materials
  • Coordinate with Receiving to elevate problem shelf concerns
  • Pursuit of cost-down initiatives
  • Change Management Subject Matter Expert for the Materials team
  • Backup for the MRO Clerk

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Material planning or Supply Chain experience required.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Experience in ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Proficient using general office equipment and computer system (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Tow motor certified or willing to earn tow motor certification
  • Ability to lead and give direction to other employees
  • Good oral and written communication

LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Less than 5% travel associated with this role
