 Within Advisory, PwC has a large team that focus on transformation in Government with focus on Sustainability, Climate Change, Environment & Digital Solutions. The open position is for a candidate who desires to work with such clients and bring about a change in society. A successful candidate will be expected to work pro-actively and effectively on multiple client engagements over the period of time and take ownership of the entire project delivery he/she entrusted with.  

Responsibilities  

• Organizing various awareness programmes/workshops/seminars/about circular economy principles and various waste sectors to enhance social responsibility, corporate sustainability and regulatory compliance.  

• Continuously monitoring and evaluating the progress of sustainability initiatives of corporates and various Rajasthan state owned programmes. 

• Collect, analyze and interpret sustainability related data to track progress, identify trends and assist in decision making on the same 

• Exploring agencies who have developed different models on for different types of waste generated in the country and also in the State of Rajasthan 

• Exploring various types of innovative waste recycling technologies on Solid Waste/Plastic Waste/Hazardous Waste/MSW etc 

• Identifying opportunities for recycling/upcycling and remanufacturing of waste.  

• Assisting the Department on other work in Sustainability & Circularity 

Mandatory skill sets:  

1. In-depth Understanding of Circular Economy Principles 

• Knowledge of the fundamentals of circular economy models, including the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), product lifecycle thinking, and regenerative design. 

• Familiarity with concepts like cradle-to-cradle design, biomimicry, resource efficiency, and closed-loop systems. 

2. Sustainability and Environmental Science 

• Understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g., UN Sustainable Development Goals). 

• Environmental impact assessment and life cycle analysis (LCA). 

• Knowledge of materials science relating to biodegradability, recyclability, and toxicity. 

3. Regulatory and Policy Knowledge 

• Awareness of relevant environmental, waste management, and circular economy policies and regulations locally and internationally. 

• Ability to navigate compliance issues and align projects with legal standards. 

4. Circular Business Models and Innovation 

• Expertise in various circular business models (e.g., product as a service, sharing economy, product life extension). 

• Capacity to innovate and redesign products/services for circularity. 

5. Data Analysis and Systems Thinking 

• Proficiency in analyzing data related to resource flows, waste streams, and environmental impact. 

• Systems thinking to understand interdependencies within supply chains and ecosystems. 

6. Project Management and Implementation 

• Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating circular economy projects. 

• Skills in stakeholder engagement, including working with manufacturers, suppliers, policymakers, and communities. 

7. Communication and Collaboration 

• Ability to communicate complex sustainability concepts clearly to diverse audiences. 

• Collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, business strategists, and policymakers.

Education qualification:  

Ph.D/MTech/MSc in the field having desired knowledge
