Role

We’re looking for an Implementation Lead with deep EpicCare Inpatient - Clinical Documentation expertise to drive the operational and technical deployment of SmarterDx’s EHR-embedded clinical documentation solution.  From contract signature through go-live and early adoption, you will lead implementations that sit directly in physician workflows and influence documentation quality, diagnosis capture, and downstream revenue and quality outcomes.

This product was acquired and is in the process of deeper integration into the SmarterDx ecosystem. You will play a critical role in ensuring stable deployment today while also helping create scalable implementation standards as the solution evolves over time.

This role will serve as the build and workflow authority during implementation, ensuring the solution integrates cleanly within Epic documentation workflows. You will partner closely with clinicians, technical analysts, and product managers to deliver fast, predictable, and high-quality go-lives.

You understand that physician-facing tools must be dependable, intuitive, and thoughtfully embedded in the EHR to earn adoption. You are comfortable engaging physicians and APPs to lead workflow discovery sessions, conduct at-the-elbow support, and coach providers on documentation best practices without adding cognitive load.

**This role is fully remote within the US. Travel (~25%) is expected during key deployment phases, particularly during initial go-lives and provider training, based on client needs.**

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the implementation of SmarterNotes from contract signing through go-live.
  • Define and manage implementation milestones, scope, risks, stakeholder identification and communication.
  • Coordinate closely with the integration team to ensure clean data ingestion and seamless EHR embedding.
  • Facilitate workflow discovery sessions to understand current-state documentation practices and friction points, while building future state workflows that will help drive product adoption.
  • Provide at-the-elbow training and support during key deployment phases.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable implementation standards as the product matures.
  • Capture and communicate structured client feedback to help inform the product roadmap.

What You Bring

  • EpicCare Inpatient - Clinical Documentation certification.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing clinical AI tools within hospital or health system environments.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to successfully lead and execute complex implementation projects within defined timelines.
  • Deep understanding of Epic’s inpatient clinical documentation workflows, including how they intersect with CDI and Coding.
  • Elite communication skills and executive presence with proven ability to engage disparate groups of clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders while guiding them through change.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with HL7v2 integration patterns and experience coordinating with technical teams on data onboarding.
  • Experience supporting embedded EHR applications or SMART on FHIR tools.
  • Experience collaborating directly with physician champions during EHR optimization initiatives.
  • Experience working in early-stage or evolving technology environments.
  • Lean, Agile, or PMP certification.
