Education

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent  
  • Two (2) years of College or equivalent experience required

Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of healthcare experience and working in an information services department with extensive knowledge of financial systems.  
  • Proficiency of information systems and personal computers needed. Familiarity, troubleshooting and building within radiology specific applications such as RIS, CADSTREAM, MagView, PACS, HIS, VR dictation and scheduling systems as well as HL7 interfaces       
  • Experience creating and leading communications with peers, senior leaders, business partners, and vendors to ensure collaboration, efficiency, and service excellence with imaging related systems 
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills required. Knowledge of information systems and personal computers needed. Special Skills Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn proprietary ad hoc report writer. 

Position Summary

The Imaging Systems Administrator will collaborate with the Senior Imaging Systems Administrator and Imaging Leadership on current and future imaging related systems, applications, services and technologies that support radiology operations within the Jupiter Medical Center system.  

  • Collaborate with the senior imaging systems administrator and imaging leadership on implementing and monitoring imaging applications, technology and support processes, and coordinating consistent support including streamlining upgrades and downtime procedures to the areas impacted by imaging services.    
  • Operate PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto- routing, and prefetching and other related activities. Works closely with senior imaging systems administrator and imaging leadership to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validation, exceptions handling and troubleshooting. 
  • Serves as liaison with finance and billing departments ensuring charge master and billing compliance by performing daily QA on imaging related charges for proper posting and clean claims 
  • Participates in the development of proposals. Maintains adequate systems documentation.
  • Ensures imaging departmental compliance with timekeeping records and Joint Commission Standards for team member files.   
  • Ensures all department, hospital, and JCAHO, ACR, State & Federal guidelines are met and maintained for imaging systems, retention rates and HIPAA compliance   
  • Works closely with other groups as part of change management 
  • Acts as liaison between radiology and other departments supported by medical imaging initiatives and procedures and assisting with existing or new medical imaging endeavors 
  • Works in cooperation with the senior imaging systems administrator and imaging leadership to identify present and future needs for equipment installation and budgetary preparation 
  • Works closely with senior imaging administrator and vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new and /or upgraded systems 
  • Prepares reports as needed.

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, standing, and stretching. Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry.  Able to work under a stressful environment, work independently, capable of making sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 20lbs.                                                                           

Threshold Requirements

  • These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis.
    • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
    • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
    • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
