Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) Developer to design, develop, and implement business process workflows within enterprise environments. This role focuses on automating complex business processes using IBM BAW/BPM solutions, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to deliver scalable process solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve compliance, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Software Requirements

  • Required:

    • Hands-on experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) / BPM, version 20.0 or higher

    • Strong knowledge of process modeling, workflow design, and activity development within IBM BAW

    • Experience developing and deploying process applications, user interfaces, and services

    • Familiarity with integrating IBM BAW with external systems via REST and SOAP web services

    • Knowledge of process automation best practices, error handling, and performance tuning

    • Proficiency in Java or JavaScript for custom UI and integration enhancements

    • Experience with testing tools and methodologies for BPM solutions

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with API management, cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and hybrid integrations

    • Knowledge of REST/SOAP security standards (OAuth, SSL/TLS)

    • Familiarity with IBM Business Process Modeler (BPMN) and ODM for decision management

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support complex business workflows using IBM BAW/BPM platform

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate process requirements into technical solutions

  • Develop, test, and deploy process applications, services, and user interfaces supporting operational needs

  • Integrate IBM BAW workflows with external systems, APIs, and enterprise data sources

  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, and system optimization to ensure high availability and responsiveness

  • Maintain detailed documentation of process models, development activities, and deployment procedures

  • Support production issues, troubleshoot errors, and implement corrective actions rapidly

  • Follow industry best practices and standards for BPM development, security, and compliance

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming Languages:
    Required: Java, JavaScript for custom UI and integrations
    Preferred: Other languages such as Python or Groovy for scripting and automation

  • Process Modeling & Frameworks:
    IBM BAW/BPM (version 20.0+), BPMN, ODM (decision modeling)

  • Integration & APIs:
    RESTful services, SOAP, API management, OAuth, SSL/TLS

  • Databases & Data Management:
    Oracle, SQL Server; understanding of data consistency, security, and versioning in enterprise systems

  • Cloud & Deployment:
    Cloud deployment in AWS, Azure, or GCP supporting hybrid BPM solutions (preferred)

  • Tools & Platforms:
    IBM BAW studio, IBM BPM Process Designer, DevOps tools for build, deploy, and automation

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in IBM BPM/BAW process development and support within enterprise environments

  • Proven success delivering complex business workflows, process automation, and integration solutions

  • Experience with process modeling, BPMN, and decision management frameworks (ODM) preferred

  • Strong technical background supporting process deployment, security, and performance optimization

  • Industry experience in banking, finance, manufacturing, or healthcare sectors is advantageous

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Analyze and document process requirements and translate into scalable IBM BAW workflows

  • Design, implement, and optimize BPM applications supporting core business functions

  • Perform code, process, and system reviews, ensuring standards and best practices are followed

  • Troubleshoot performance issues, process errors, and integration bottlenecks

  • Collaborate with business units and technology teams throughout the development lifecycle

  • Support release, deployment, and operational activities, including system updates and patches

  • Maintain documentation detailing architecture, configurations, and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 5+ years supporting or developing enterprise-level IBM BAW/ BPM solutions

  • Relevant certifications in IBM BPM, BPMN, or process automation are advantageous

  • Proven experience supporting digital transformation and process automation initiatives
