What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $63,679 and $84,375. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

Please note: this position is 100% in-person. In this position you can expect to work on site at the Saint Francis Center, located at 2323 Curtis Street, Denver, CO 80205. You can also expect occasional travel to our other neighborhood resource sites located around the Denver metro.

Denver Human Services currently is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor, this position performs front line supervisory duties, and oversees the operations for the Lobby service team for Denver Human Services Family and Adult Assistance Division (FAAD).  This position will also provide coverage to our Neighborhood Resource Site Groups.

We are seeking an enthusiastic positive-minded leader for the role. Operations Supervisors lead teams who ensure that the flow of customer service in all locations is running effectively. They will ensure those that applied for or are on public assistance are provided with a positive customer experience when coming to one of our locations for assistance.

Specifically, as an Operations Supervisor you will:

  • Reviews, develops, or modifies work plans, methods, and procedures, determines work priorities, and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage. Provides work instruction and assists employees with difficult and/or unusual assignments and encourages innovation. Assigns and distributes work, reviews work for accuracy and completeness, and returns assignments with recommendations for proper completion 
  • The supervisor will need to be able to explain procedures, policies and workflow to staff and customers. This will include understanding public assistance eligibility rules and processing timeliness guidelines
  • Prepares reports that provide analysis. Also gather and track data for staff in preparation for workers’ annual reviews. This position is a in person face to face with the public position 5 days a week in office. This position also requires travel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by management
  • Responsible for staff timekeeping (Workday), discipline, hiring actions, and general supervisory duties
  • Travel to our Neighborhood Resource Sites for site checks.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Previous leadership or supervisor experience
  • Professional level experience processing client referrals within the community 
  • Professional level experience working with community-based partners and organizations
  • Professional level experience utilizing PC applications including Adobe and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional communications skills
  • Professional level experience with process improvement and or program management 
  • Experience with training or teaching new processes, programs, or rules/policy to staff
  • Strong conflict resolution and trouble shooting skills
  • Database systems experience (Colorado Benefits Management System knowledge a plus)

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of experience performing technical, paraprofessional, and/ or administrative work (this does not include office support work).

Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.

License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
