Salary Range: $50460 - $65599 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS) in the CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide advice and assistance to management, supervisors, and employees on the processing of injury compensation claims and program requirements.
  • You will maintain records of facts in all areas of injury compensation, disability, return to work, physical therapy, fitness for duty medical examinations, medical reevaluation from OWCP, and automated data regarding costs and status.
  • You will responses to higher-level data calls, and creating Office of Worker’s Compensation Program (OWCP) reports for all CHRO-SE OWCP serviced Commands
  • You will manage and administer the Civilian Drug Free Workplace Program (DFWP) for CHRO-SE serviced Commands
  • You will be responsible for program evaluations, performing research and fact-finding assignments evaluating management request for addition/deletion of positions to the Navy’s list of Testing Designated Positions.
  • You will Responsible for the timely dissemination of new/pertinent DON Work/Life Program information to appropriate personnel.
  • You will use various management information systems to respond to UCs, to include Defense Injury and Unemployment Compensation System (DIUCS) and Total Workforce Management Services (TWMS).

Qualifications: GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing advice and assistance to management, supervisors, and employees on the processing of injury compensation claims AND program requirements to include processing related Department of Labor (DOL) forms; Coordinating Drugfree Workplace Program testing activities at designated collection sites.
