Job Description Summary
As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting and staffing, on-boarding, and facilitating new hire orientation. Assist with organizational, departmental planning, employee relations issues, training, and support the Human Resources Director. Must maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance of all applicable state and federal laws.

Special Qualifications, Requirements, Education, or Licenses:
- Two to four years of college education in a related field with 2 to 4 years related experience with at least 200 employees; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous HRIS experience highly preferred in Workday
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to multitask several priorities at the same time
- Flexible schedule
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Bilingual English and Spanish required
Job Tasks:
Recruitment:
Recruit, interview, and select employees to fill all vacant positions within the Hotel
Review, update, and maintain the staffing guide. Match applicants with job requirements.
Assist Directors, Managers, and Supervisors in the development and revision of job descriptions. Maintain updated job descriptions.
Maintains close liaison with managers regarding staffing needs.
Conduct a wage survey within the labor market to determine the competitive wage rate
Process employment applications, coordinate and schedule interviews, and coordinate start dates for new hires.
Perform reference and background checks on applicants.
Send and interpret the applicant's Predictive Index, and analyze the PI to ensure it meets the defined job's behavioral requirements.
Post positions for existing and future openings in the HRIS, online, employee Bulletin board, and HR Office and agencies.
Evaluate selection and placement techniques by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with management and supervisory personnel
Attend Job Fairs and develop a relationship with recruiters
Work with student exchange agencies to recruit employees abroad and local internships
Reply to applicants with response cards or regret letters as deemed necessary
Update and maintain staffing guide to ensure compliance with approved staffing levels and match applicants with job requirements
Maintains close liaison with managers regarding staffing needs
Employee Relations:
- Promote the employee referral program
- Frequent interaction with all levels of employees, assisting in resolving issues brought forth, guiding managers in proper approaches to foster a productive and satisfied workforce, and assisting line staff in communicating concerns to responsible parties.
- Provide counsel and direction to employees and members of management
- Coordinate with HR Director to ensure compliance with Hotel guidelines and applicable State and Federal laws.
- Interact with Directors, Managers, and Supervisors regarding policy and procedures, problem-solving procedures, and personnel actions when necessary.
- Examine employee files to answer outside inquiries and provide information for verification of employment, and to assist other Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and authorized personnel when necessary
- Participate in hotel Care/Safety committee meetings
- Attend daily employee stand-ups and weekly staff meetings, representing the HR department. Assist with planning and coordinating employee engagement & hotel events, including employee parties, luncheons, outings, meetings, programs, community service, and training.
- Update and maintain information for employee bulletin boards and hotel newsletters
- Assist the HR Director on special projects and keep him/her abreast of current issues
- Assist with the coordination of special events
Compliance:
- Work with the HR Director on the formulation of policies and procedures
- Process and complete unemployment claims and attend hearings and depositions in the absence of the HR Director
Training:
- Attend safety committee meetings and make recommendations for the reduction of accidents
- Attend management and departmental meetings
- Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation as monthly.
- Coordinate and facilitate Spanish training, including new-employee orientation.
- Attend HR-related functions, meetings, training, and informational seminars for the benefit of the Hotel
Other:
- Assist the HR Director as required
- Assist in daily HR activities
- Assist the HR Director with the preparation of the budget and capital expenses
- Ensure and maintain confidentiality
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations in performing job duties not necessarily contained in this job description
