The AstraZeneca Summer Internship Program

10–12-week development experience running through the summer months.

Internships are meant to be a catalyst in helping students gain hands on learning & exposure to the career they’re pursuing.

Internships benefit students by supporting them to:

  • Build their professional network.

  • Gain relevant experience for post-graduation opportunities.

  • Expose them to AstraZeneca as a possible future employer.

Intern Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students must be 18 years or older at time of hire; and not require sponsorship to work in the UK

  • Students pursuing undergraduate, masters or doctoral degree.

A salary will be paid.

Accountabilities:

Build and networking relationships with others in the L&D team, HR and the business as a whole. Develop knowledge around the HRD and people within the business. Complete and build skills around administration related to HR, L&D and Communications.

Essential Skills

  • Computer Literate

  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized in your approach

  • GCSE'S including Maths & English

  • Confident using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Enthusiastic with positive attitude

  • Hard working and organised

Desirable

An interest in business and people/psychology

Key activities

  • Help the team with HR process administration.

  • Assist with calendar management, HR process implementation, and step in when administrative support is needed.

  • Put together communications for the site workplace intranet, support the Communications Manager with communication administration tasks and events

  • Support training administration processes where required including processing of training forms and monitoring of the email inbox.

  • Co-ordinate site training
