Location: CHANEL Vancouver - Oakridge Boutique
Reports to: P&O Director
Contract: Full-time and Permanent Position
Travel: this role will require occasional, planned travels, across Canada (mainly in AB, and occasionally in ON & QC.)

Your role @ Chanel:

We are looking for an People & Organization (P&O) Business Partner (Generalist) for whom the main mission will be to support our Fashion division and Fragrance & Beauty (F&B) retail teams in Western Canada (Vancouver & Calgary), while partnering to manage employee experience, lead talent acquisitions, onboarding and learning and development.

HR partnership initiatives & administration

 

  • Partner with our Fashion and F&B teams consistently to support and strategize retail people initiatives, mainly Fashion Boutiques as well as F&B Retail Environment Support.

  • Maintain current People processes in place: bi-weekly meetings with our Boutique Directors, provide coaching, assist in employee meetings, Performance processes, partner in the disciplinary processes, etc.

  • Propose ideas for improving processes or procedures to maximize corporate performance.

  • Develop talent integration tools/recognition initiatives and diversity and inclusion strategies.

  • Conduct and support implementation of actions originating from employee surveys (culture/engagement/interest, etc.).

  • Lead and participate in various committees such as Health & Safety, D&I, etc.

 

Talent Attraction/Engagement/Onboarding

  • Collaborate with the People and Organization (P&O) team to optimize current recruitment strategies.

  • Provide coaching and training to managers regarding interviewing and hiring techniques.

  • Continually partner with our Boutique Directors to help them choose the best retail staff for each boutique.

  • Ensure the continuous improvement of interview tools and techniques and enhance the integration of new hires.

  • Manage the offer process through negotiations and contract preparation in conjunction with the managers.

  • Build a structured Onboarding plan with the hiring managers to ensure effective onboarding of all new hires.

  • Prepare and present recruitment statistics to identify trends and improve time-to-fill metrics.

  • Enter all new hire entries and job-related changes in Workday.

  • Conduct exit interviews.

 

Learning and Development

  • Partner with the Boutique Management teams to determine the holistic learning requirements for their teams (soft skills, technical and business competencies) and ensure the trainings proposed target the right skillsets.

  • Build learning road maps for key talents and for potential succession candidates taking into consideration specific needs, operational challenges and organizational priorities.

 

Although comprehensive, the job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be added according to the needs of the business.

What you will bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of experience as an HR/P&O Business Partner or in a similar HR role.

  • Advanced knowledge of the people side of the job market in Western Canada

  • Bilingual: English & Mandarin, spoken and written.

  • Relevant experience in recruitment and/or talent acquisition.

  • A working knowledge of an HRIS, ideally Workday.

  • Proven experience and comfortable in a coach-like role.

  • A collaborative approach to driving projects forward.

  • A comfort with influence without control.

  • Resilient positivity and energy.

  • A genuine passion for discovery through listening.

  • An ability to blend the People & Retailing perspectives.

  • A working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and accuracy.

  • The ability to effectively manage volume and niche searches, often simultaneously.
