POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), College of Health and Human Development (HHD), at The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for a Human Research Technologist - Health and Medicine position at the University Park campus.

The position will coordinate an NIH-funded multi-disciplinary project focusing on speech and language function in persons with dysarthria secondary to ALS (PALS). The final candidate will ensure smooth operations, adherence to timelines, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and coordinate the project; track project progress and prepare progress reports
  • Coordinate communications across the research team regarding project-related tasks
  • Coordinating recruitment and scheduling of participants
  • Prepare participants for sessions and provide necessary equipment to facilitate testing
  • Perform clinical screening of eligible participants and administer clinical tests as part of the study protocol
  • Develop, review, and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents
  • Facilitate data collection and management
  • Serve as liaison with the University’s Institutional Review Board Office
  • Maintain internal procedures and quality control
  • Assist with team, University, and funding agency project reports
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate research assistants

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have excellent written communication skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team, and have excellent organizational and time management skills.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
