Job Description:

Summary:

The Healthy Schools, Healthy Communities lab requires support with research, report writing and literature reviews on food system transformation programs and projects nationally and globally. Focus areas within the food system include production, distribution, and consumption and effective approaches and strategies that have been implemented in cities similar to DC. Other duties will involve meeting and webinar attendance, reading reports and policies, along with drafting summaries to recap main points and takeaways relevant to our project efforts. 

Essential Functions:

  • Support the lab with research.

  • Report writing.

  • Conduct literature reviews.

  • Attend meetings and webinars.

  • Read reports and policies.

  • Draft summaries and takeaways relevant to projects.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-time.

  • 10 expected hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 1 year of related experience or coursework in public health and health promotion.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 1+ years of related experience or coursework in public health and health promotion.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Interest in food systems, nutrition environments, and community engagement.
