As an HS&E Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of health, safety, and environmental practices across project sites. Working closely with operations teams, you will help ensure compliance with safety standards by providing guidance, assisting with inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Safe Work Practice documents, while supporting field personnel in meeting leading indicator requirements. You will assist in monitoring site activities, tracking safety performance, and identifying opportunities to enhance processes.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with conducting site inspections and work with field supervisors to identify and address potential safety hazards
- Help ensure safety equipment and supplies are available and in good condition
- Support monitoring of environmental conditions (e.g., noise, dust) to maintain compliance with safety standards
- Provide basic guidance to workers on HS&E practices and assist in delivering safety orientations and toolbox talks
- Work with the HS&E team to support the development and updating of safety procedures and documentation
- Help maintain site-specific safety plans, hazard assessments, and safe work practices as projects progress
- Assist in incident investigations by gathering information and supporting follow-up actions
- Track and report basic safety data and support audits of hazard assessments and reports
- Support site leadership with preparation of safety meetings and communications
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in construction or a related field (co-op or internship experience considered an asset)
- Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or currently working toward one)
- Basic understanding of construction site practices and safety requirements
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn and engage with field teams
- Eagerness to develop skills in hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety program support
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
