Be the Face of HR for our employees in Canada to bring the desired employee experience to life by partnering with managers, COEs, HR Business Partners and fellow HR Partners on people practices and process execution!

Air Products has an immediate opportunity for an HR Partner, Canada to support our Canadian organization. This role reports to the North America HR Partner Manager.  This position is hybrid and is based in our Edmonton, AB office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations Casework: Advises and supports on employee relations cases (e.g., grievances, discipline, performance improvement plans, absences, terminations, etc.), conducting investigations when needed.
  • Manager Training: Assists in developing and delivering manager training on employee relations and people practices aligned with Our Way of Leading, with involvement scaled based on the topic, size and complexity of the client group and the availability of HR support.
  • Observe safe workplace behaviors, engagement with employees and supervisors, and maintain display of updated compliance posters during regular site visits.
  • HR Policy & Legal Compliance: Supports HR policy and compliance by ensuring alignment with global standards (where appropriate) and provincial and federal Canadian labor laws; updates policies, handbooks, and employment contracts based on regulatory changes.
  • COE Collaboration: Provide input/feedback to the global COEs, including Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Culture and Engagement with respect to Canada specific plan design, legal compliance issues as they relate to employees, policy interpretation, and employee communication (French/English).
  • HRBP Collaboration: Collaborate with HRBPs to deliver operational support for local employees and frontline and mid-level leaders, ensuring smooth execution of HR processes (e.g., promotions, separation execution, employee relations and hiring/onboarding)
  • Total Rewards Support: Supports job offers, salary increase, promotion, retention and recognition processes by reviewing compensation data, preparing recommendations, and ensuring alignment with our compensation philosophy.
  • Manager Coaching & Partnering: Serves as trusted advisor to front line and mid-level managers and HR colleagues delivering solutions to help the business achieve their objectives.
  • Workforce Plan Implementation: Supports the development of local workforce strategy and implements workforce plans by coordinating hiring, internal mobility, restructuring and termination activities, and/or capability development.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture: Partners with HRBPs to implement initiatives related to culture, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Liaise with internal and external legal counsel and represent the company in any legal or mediation proceedings as they pertain to employees.
  • Support various business groups, HR COE’s, and HR Business Partners with their communication to Canadian employees, coordinating for translations as appropriate.
  • Partner with leadership teams and HR business partners to implement performance management, including disciplinary actions and performance plans.
  • Protect the company's interests in all areas of HR and coach leadership teams as appropriate
  • Travel of up to 25% to site locations across Eastern and Western Canada

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in employee relations and labor relations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an HR discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian HR laws and regulations
  • Bi-lingual (French Canadian/English)
