Work hours: min. 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 3-days Work from Office each week
Role Overview
The HR Manager will support and execute the Human Resources function for Trek India. This role requires a hands-on professional who will personally manage and deliver core HR activities across the employee lifecycle while supporting strategic HR initiatives driven by Senior Leadership.
The HR Manager will be responsible for day-to-day HR operations, talent acquisition support, employee onboarding, training coordination, employee relations, HR data and compliance, and performance cycle administration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in execution.
Objectives of the role
- Executing HR processes that support Trek India’s people strategy and business objectives.
- Managing operational HR activities including employee lifecycle management, HR documentation, HRIS updates, and compliance.
- Leading the talent acquisition & independently handling offer negotiations.
- Leading onboarding, induction, and training coordination for all new hires.
- Driving employee engagement activities and supporting culture-building initiatives.
- Providing HR data, analytics, and reports to assist decision-making.
- Acting as the first point of contact for employee queries on policies & procedures
- Overseeing employee training and development programs to enhance skills and career growth.
- Fostering a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ensuring compliance with Indian labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Compliance
- Create and manage the HR budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Lead and mentor the TA & Admin team
- Maintain accurate employee data, records, and HRIS updates.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
HR Policy Implementation
- Ensure employees understand and follow HR policies.
- Update policies and communicate changes.
- Analyze HR metrics and reports
Talent Acquisition
- Design and implement talent acquisition strategies that align with the company’s hiring needs
- Work closely with the Talent Acquisition (TA) team to fulfill staffing requirements.
- Own offer negotiation, compensation discussions, and issuance of offer letters.
- Ensure smooth coordination between hiring managers and TA team.
Onboarding, Induction & Training
- Manage end-to-end onboarding processes (documentation, systems setup, day-one coordination).
- Coordinate functional training plans in collaboration with managers and external partners
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and grievance resolution.
- Work closely with managers to drive performance conversations and employee development.
- Design initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Manage employee relations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Develop competitive compensation structures and benefits programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related field.
- 9-12 years of experience in HR generalist, HR operations, Talent Acquisition, or similar hands-on HR roles.
- At least 3 years’ experience leading HR / Admin teams
- Strong understanding of HR processes, Indian labour laws, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in handling onboarding, induction, and training coordination.
- Proficiency in HRIS tools, MS Office, and HR documentation.
- Hands-on experience in “Workday”
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills for handling offers and compensation discussions.
- High attention to detail & strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on and get things done
- Experience in developing and managing HR budgets.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
