An HR Business Partner job is available with the City of Fort Worth Human Resources Department. The HR Business Partner serves as the primary liaison between Human Resources and assigned operational departments; ensures consistent application of people-focused policies, processes, and systems; provides credible guidance and consultative services related to local, state, and federal employment regulations, and is focused on service alignment, risk reduction, and compliance.

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a well-rounded, self-motivated team player to serve as a Human Resources Business Partner, supporting a portfolio of departments, projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have current or prior generalist-level Human Resources experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, business administration or a related field; and
  • Five (5) years of human resources generalist experience, preferably supporting multiple business units.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certification in Human Resources Management (preferred – PHR, SHRM-CP)

The HR Business Partner job responsibilities include:

  • Develops and nurtures operational partnerships through direct collaboration and coaching with department leaders, coordinators, and staff, providing insight that improves HR service delivery.
  • Acts as a bridgebuilder, streamlining support and reducing redundancy by serving as a liaison between all HR functional areas, to meet the needs of assigned portfolio.
  • Provides generalist-level consultation, including consistent and credible advisement on theoretical and practical employment matters.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and present strategic solutions intended to drive organizational results.
  • Provides and delivers innovative and integrated HR practices around critical business issues.
  • Mediates and resolves employee relations issues; conducts thorough and objective investigations, when necessary. Manages employee relations issues including corrective actions, corrective coaching and leadership consulting.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
