Your opportunity

At Mission Australia Housing, technology matters most when it makes life easier for the people using it every day. As our Housing Systems Manager, the focus is on shaping and improving housing systems with staff and residents at the centre , designing solutions that are practical, intuitive and connected across the whole service system. Working at the intersection of housing operations, technology and lived experience, this role brings a human‑centred, systems‑thinking approach to ensuring our platforms genuinely support frontline teams, enable good decisions and strengthen the services that help people access and sustain safe, affordable homes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Play a lead role in the systems roadmap and governance, covering Civica (Cx), Assetic, 8x8, SharePoint and the website.
  • Align business processes and system design, translating operational workflows into practical configuration, integrations, data and reporting requirements that work for end users.
  • Drive continuous improvement of core platforms, particularly CX, working with IT and vendors to deliver enhancements that improve staff experience and resident outcomes.
  • Own SharePoint and document management governance, including standards, permissions, audits and version control, so information is findable, current and compliant.
  • Work closely with our housing data team, defining critical data fields and validation rules, guiding dashboards and reports, and ensuring changes meet legislative, contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Be the SME in systems‑related projects, scoping issues, testing solutions, coordinating go‑lives, supporting cyclical processes such as rent reviews and water billing, and embedding lessons learned.
  • Build strong internal and vendor partnerships, representing Housing Operations in technical forums, managing risks and issues, and supporting new business implementations and embedding into daily operations.

Requirements for success

  • Proven experience managing or supporting complex business systems, ideally across housing, community services or another regulated operational environment.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into clear business process, system, data and reporting requirements, and explain technical concepts in practical, plain language.
  • Demonstrated systems‑thinking capability, with an understanding of end‑to‑end impacts across processes, technology, data, compliance and service outcomes.
  • Experience working collaboratively with IT teams, system vendors and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver system improvements and manage change.
  • Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and design sustainable, user‑centred solutions.
  • High level of organisation and written communication skills, including the ability to develop governance documents, guidance materials and support resources.
  • Current valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
