Your part in The Hospital Registration Team
Reporting to the Hospital Registration Supervisor and the Hospital Registration Manager, as a Hospital Registration Officer, you will provide eligibility advice and administrative support hospitals and patients.
Morning and Afternoon shifts rotate between 8am - 6pm, Mon - Fri, and optional weekends and public holidays between 8am - 4pm.

Key duties will include:
Perform and accurately interpreting health fund checks to confirm eligibility for admission.
Advise patients of administrative information relating to their hospital stay.
Process clerical preadmission registrations either via the Hospital Admission Booking System (HABS) or over the telephone in a timely manner.
Ensure all patient information is collected in accordance with the UCH Privacy Policy and via appropriate documentation.
Ensure that all patients contacted by telephone have information regarding valuables, fees and estimated gaps and payment details.
Collection of information is in accordance with the Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHAPDC) requirements.
Respond to queries from patients, family members, specialists and other staff in a courteous and helpful manner.
Ensure all payments and credit/debit card details taken prior to admission are stored in line with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance.
Liaise with Practice Managers of Visiting Medical Practitioners (VMPs) for patient eligibility as required.
Provide coverage for staff absences and assist in the training of new staff.

Desirable:
Knowledge of online eligibility checks (OEC).
Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent and/or applicable experience in an administration role or other role which demonstrates the relevant skills required.
