As part of the administrative staff within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), serves as primary point of contact for the Honda Chair, an Ohio Eminent Scholar (OES) and their research groups;

Provides general administrative support and project management (including Center operations); creates and maintains record keeping and filing systems; manages calendar and arranges meetings including room reservations, catering, and preparation of documentation and presentations; supports courses/projects taught and managed by the Honda Chair and OES; coordinates Spend Authorizations and Expense Reports for the Honda Chair, OES, members of their research group as well as any invited guests, ensuring all appropriate information and documentation are in place; monitors financial status of research projects and other budget allocations and provides alerts and notifications of deadlines; prepares budgets, spreadsheets and reports at the request of the Honda Chair and OES; maintains records of sponsored projects; responds to and connects with potential academic partners; completes forms and responds to sponsor inquiries; provides updates to sponsoring agencies; assists with proposal preparation and submission; reviews website content and ensures timely updates; drafts website and other updates and submits them to the Honda Chair or OES for approval as appropriate; assists in updating and proofing manuscripts and proposals; assists with administrative activities related to journal editorship including, but not limited to, managing manuscript submissions and follows up with scholars concerning various aspects of the submission process; maintains contact with authors, printers, faculty, staff, and others associated with published work;

Reports to Administrative Assistant to the Department Chair of MAE and provides support as needed for special projects and events; serves as backup for other Office Administrative Associate positions within the Department

Additional Information:

Minimum Education Required - High School Diploma or GED

Desired Education - Post secondary training in office administration

Minimum Experience Required - 1 year of relevant experience working in an office setting.

Desired Experience - 2-4 years of relevant experience working in an office setting.

Pay rate: $18.37-23.99/hr.

The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
