Home-Based Senior Accountant

The DCX Client Services - Home Based Senior Accountant will work as a full-time employee for a growing business based in the United States. You will get a chance to learn new skills as well as demonstrate skills you've learned in the past. You will be responsible for closely following the instructions and processes outlined by the company.  

The daily tasks will vary so it will be necessary to be very flexible in this position. Other necessary characteristics of the job include having a strong attention to detail, ability to work well with co-workers, and a desire to learn new work skills.

Role Details 

  • Industry: Construction 

  • Work Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST (USA) 

  • Workdays: Monday through Friday (USA) 

  • Written and spoken English skill: Very Proficient 

  • Salary Range: 97,000 

Job Responsibilities 

CORE ACCOUNTING​

  • Responsible for general ledger and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closes.

  • Percentage of Completion (POC) experiences in building WIP reports

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.

  • Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.

  • Reconcile and cleanup GL accounts

  • Maintain financial integrity across entities, consolidating and working with business units

OPERATIONS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

  • Support Quarter ending physical inventory counts and related reconciliations.

  • Support Group Controller and CFO on Ad Hoc projects

  • Track Daily AP and AR operations for both Group and Branches

  • Business Central (BC) and Power BI initiatives support person; key knowledge to have in these areas

COMPLIANCE

  • Assist with annual audit and tax filings by coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, including sales tax reporting.

FINANCIAL REPORTING

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements for bank reporting including tracking ongoing debt covenants

  • Collaborate with finance team on budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Perform consolidation and eliminations for group financial reporting.

Additional Job Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.  

  • Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience to include industry and public accounting experience desired (preferably in construction)

  • CPA designation or currently eligible to sit for the CPA exam strongly preferred

  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP accounting.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Business Central and advanced Excel skills

  • Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting is strongly preferred.

  • Previous external audit experience preferred

  • Exceptional analytical and reconciliation skills required

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities

  • Self-starter, independent worker desired who works well in a very team-oriented environment.

  • Passionate about continuous process improvement.
