Your key responsibilities
The role, reporting to the Head of Tax and Financial Control is responsible for delivery of Direct and Indirect taxes:
Manage the corporation tax compliance cycle for the UK company and Irish branch, including review of UK RDEC claims
Prepare tax provisions and disclosures as required for monthly, quarterly and annual group and local reporting
Maintain local transfer pricing documentation
Ensure compliance with internal controls as required on a monthly / quarterly basis
Oversea the completion and submission of VAT returns for UK and Ireland
Monitor and advise on business developments and opportunities to ensure the tax obligations of the business are managed, risks identified / mitigated and that appropriate CT and VAT accounting arrangements are in place
Be the key contact for HMRC Customer Compliance Manager
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
ACA/ACCA with either CTA or significant tax experience
Working understanding of IFRS and how they interact with tax accounting
Experience of team / people management and an ability to lead and inspire a hard-working team
Ability to build relationships across the business to support teams with a variety of business issues
What does success look like?
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will need to quickly develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, rapidly analyse tax projects, and efficiently learn and adapt to existing processes. Success in the role will be measured by the ability to seamlessly integrate into the team, deliver accurate and timely tax analysis, and maintain continuity in tax operations during the maternity cover period. Daily and weekly activities will include reviewing tax filings, collaborating with finance teams, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Success will be defined as having managed the CT and VAT obligations of SEUK, and identifying opportunities/implementing changes in order to reduce tax risk across SEUK over the duration of the assignment.
