About the Role
The Higher Degree Research (HDR) Engagement Senior Support Officer plays a vital role in shaping meaningful engagement and partnership experiences for HDR students across Flinders University. Working at the heart of the Office of Graduate Research, this role drives initiatives that strengthen industry collaboration, enhance student support, and elevate the HDR experience.
In this position, your key responsibilities include:
Coordinating HDR engagement and partnership initiatives, including supporting national programs such as the National Industry PhD Program.
Providing high-level committee, reporting and project support to the OGR, Colleges and key stakeholders.
Maintaining partnership data, producing accurate reports, and improving processes, systems and service delivery related to HDR engagement.
About You
Your strong organisational skills, attention to detail and experience in providing high-quality administrative support within the higher education or research environment will enable you to excel in this role. Your confident communication skills, professionalism and cultural sensitivity ensure you can support a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, supervisors, industry partners and senior staff.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
Experience delivering administrative services in higher education, particularly related to research partnerships and/or industry engagement.
Ability to interpret and apply complex policies, procedures and guidelines, and provide accurate advice to stakeholders.
Proficiency in working with complex databases, such as student management information systems.
Understanding of current issues in the higher education sector relevant to HDR engagement and partnership activities.

The Office of Graduate Research supports excellence in higher degree research across Flinders University. Working in close partnership with Colleges, professional services, research end-users and government programs, the OGR leads key initiatives that strengthen HDR training, engagement, partnerships and student success.

You are required to submit Suitability Statement of no more than 3 pages, addressing the below Key Position Capabilities of the position description:
Completion of a degree (or equivalent comprehensive experience), and experience in providing administrative services in the higher education sector for research partnerships and/or industry engagement, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and provide advice on complex policies, procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to provide professional level of service to a wide range of University clients including students, academic staff, research end-users (industry partners) and people from different cultural backgrounds.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and demonstrated ability to deliver very high standards of work relating to research partnerships and/or industry engagement
Experience and/or a demonstrated understanding of the current issues impacting on the higher education sector, particularly as pertains to HDR engagement and partnership activities.
