This role is in support of Cencora’s third-party logistics service in the UK through our Alloga business.
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day planning and scheduling of a fleet of up to 100 HGVs with varying specifications, including Chill and Ambient Control. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective utilisation of our fleet while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and meeting seasonal demands. The successful candidate will work closely with the Driver and Planning team to deliver operational excellence and support the wider transport function.
Shift Pattern: Rotating Shifts (Weekly) 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00

Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage the daily operations of a fleet of up to 100 HGVs with differing specifications (e.g., Chill/Ambient Controlled).
Allocate drivers to routes, ensuring compliance with the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers’ Hours Rules.
Monitor and manage fleet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on vehicle utilisation and scheduling efficiency.
Ensure adherence to seasonal peak demands and adjust plans accordingly.
Support strategic modelling of fleet scenarios using Dips as required.
Identify opportunities to add value and reduce costs within the distribution function.
Represent the transport department professionally in all interactions.
Provide support to the Driver and Planning team, including covering additional duties such as booking in with customers when needed.
Undertake reasonable requests and duties as determined by management.

Skills and Requirements
Proven experience in transport planning or logistics operations, ideally with exposure to managing large HGV fleets.
Strong understanding of the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers’ Hours Rules.
Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Analytical mindset with the ability to monitor KPIs and identify areas for improvement.
Experience in using planning tools or software such as Dips is desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing demands.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
A proactive and professional approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
