Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIRER without more than normal supervision, to include: Performing maintenance, repair, and replacement to component parts of heavy mobile equipment; performing preventive maintenance checks and services; conducting basic operational inspections to ensure the vehicles, machinery, equipment and vessels are properly serviced; and operate equipment to check work. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Trouble Shooting Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts: Stands, walks, stoops, bends, keels, climbs, and crawls. Works in awkward and cramped positions when working in hard-to-reach places. Frequently handles objects weighing from 20 to 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Works around heavy equipment in all types of weather. Subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt and fumes from motors and exhausts and discomfort from protective clothing, gloves, flash shield and eye goggles. There is the possibility of eye injury, electrical shock, burns, broken bones, and cuts when working with sharp objects.
