The Opportunity
This role leads the regional PV (Pharmacovigilance) and Device Vigilance center, ensuring high-quality operations and regulatory compliance. In partnership with regional Patient Safety teams, you'll manage safety performance, optimize cost and quality, oversee regional Clinical Safety integration, and support the global Patient Safety Operations strategy.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Regional Center team to deliver regulatory commitments and high-quality outcomes; ensure inspection/audit readiness and maintain QMS oversight.
Operationalize safety processes in compliance with global Roche standards and local regulations; escalate compliance issues and risks appropriately.
Drive continuous improvement across quality, compliance, and cost optimization; promote innovation through new methodologies and technologies (AI, digital analytics).
Engage and influence stakeholders through effective collaboration, negotiation, and cross-cultural leadership; represent the Regional Center internally and externally, including with regulators.
Build and lead a high-performing team with a quality- and customer-centric mindset; role model Roche values and adopt VACC leadership style (visionary, architect, catalyst, coach).
Foster a culture of empowerment, growth, and learning that enables innovation, experimentation, and succession readiness; manage recruitment, performance, and talent development.
Serve as an active PSO Leadership Team member, ensuring cross-functional alignment and contributing to departmental strategy; maintain business continuity planning and deputize for the Global Head as needed.
Who you are
Healthcare professional degree (Medical, Pharmacy, or equivalent) with 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience and at least 5 years in PV leadership roles.
Proven track record managing multi-country or regional operations within large, complex organizations.
Deep technical expertise in GVP, ICH-GCP, and global regulatory requirements (FDA/EMA).
Exceptional communicator: able to influence stakeholders and convey complex information clearly in English and Spanish.
VACC leader with a growth mindset committed to inclusive behaviors, developing high-performing diverse teams, and adopting new technologies to improve operational efficiency.
Able and willing to undertake frequent travel (5-10%)
