We are seeking a dynamic and passionate leader to spearhead our Software Design department within the Product Unit Giraffe AMB and ARTHUR. This is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and create a product-centric software design team that will revolutionize our radar systems, with a strong emphasis on delivery focus.

Your role
As the Head of Software Design, you will have the unique opportunity to build and lead a dedicated software design department. This new team will be composed of talented software developers transitioning from a larger, common department to a more agile, product-focused environment. Your mission will be to accelerate development cycles, bring our solutions closer to the end-users, and ensure a relentless focus on delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management: Oversee the organization and managers within the Software Design department, reporting directly to the Head of Design for Giraffe AMB & ARTHUR.
• Strategic Development: Drive strategic initiatives, resource planning, and competence development to ensure the unit's success, with a primary focus on delivering high-quality projects on time.
• Project Delivery: Ensure timely and high-quality project deliveries, managing budgets and employee well-being. Delivery focus is your main priority.
• Technical Expertise: Lead the development of software applications for signal and data processing, and customer-specific embedded design in our radar sensors.
• Digitalization Initiatives: Implement central digitalization initiatives across the company, focusing on system design, implementation, integration, and verification, all with a delivery-oriented mindset.

Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with a deep passion for software development and a strong belief in the potential of our employees. You should demonstrate excellent communicative leadership skills, foster a performance-driven culture and drive the unit towards common goals with an unwavering focus on delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in software development, signal data processing, and/or embedded design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coach managers, with a track record of successful project deliveries.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and a delivery-focused approach.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with operational execution, always keeping customer value in mind.
• Robust business acumen and customer focus, ensuring that delivery meets customer needs.
• High energy, creativity, and a strong drive to succeed, with a passion for delivering results.
• Relevant professional or postgraduate qualifications.
   

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
