THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Head of Reinsurance and Insurance Solutions, you will set the strategic direction and lead the execution of EML’s reinsurance strategy across the EML Group, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.

This is a highly visible role, reporting to the CEO of EML Solutions, where you will own the end-to-end reinsurance program and play a key role in shaping commercial outcomes, managing risk and supporting future growth.

You will influence and partner with executive stakeholders and external partners to ensure our reinsurance arrangements are fit for purpose, financially sound and aligned to the broader business strategy.

This will be a full time, permanent position based in our Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 2 days per week).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and lead EML’s reinsurance strategy, including end-to-end ownership of the annual renewal process
  • Optimise reinsurance structures, balancing cost, risk and capital impacts to support business performance
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with reinsurers and key market stakeholders
  • Act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on reinsurance, including risk modelling and claims performance oversight
  • Partner with executive and cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, pricing and new product development
  • Drive continuous improvement and uplift in reinsurance capability across the organisation

ABOUT YOU

  • Extensive experience in reinsurance, with strong technical expertise
  • Proven track record leading complex renewals and negotiating commercial outcomes
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at executive level
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to business strategy, growth, pricing, and new product development
  • Highly analytical with sound judgement and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to simplify complex concepts and build trust
