Head of Financial Planning – Civil Aerospace

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Head of Financial Planning to join our Finance Team in Derby. This role is central to Civil’s financial forecasts and has high impact across Civil, with interactions across all Business areas, into Group Finance and regular engagement with Civil CFO and the Civil Aerospace Leadership Team (CALT).
The role purpose is to lead the Financial Planning team with responsibility for planning, consolidating, challenging, analysing, and reporting of Civil’s In-Year and Medium-term Financial Forecasts e.g. 3+9, 8+4, Budget and 5 Year Plan.
What you will be doing:
Planning
Ensure Civil’s perspective is included in all Group Requirements and that submissions are built from robust assumptions and drivers.
Consolidating & Challenging
Work with Civil Business areas to create a coherent VBM forecast and challenge the businesses to meet their commitments (Perform) and then identify and drive improvements (Transform).
Analysing
Deep dive key topic areas, e.g. LTSA Profitability, Working Capital delivery to investigate, understand, challenge and then explain the Enterprise level position to senior stakeholders.
Reporting
Deliver all CALT and Group requirements on time and to a high standard, clearly explaining Civils position internally, to Group, to the Board and External analysts.
Facilitate the use of the forecasts across the organisation e.g. value stream frameworks, downside scenarios, viability assessments and deferred tax valuations.
