Job Summary

This role will report to the Global Head of Planning and Scheduling

In support of our Center of Excellence located in Hyderabad India the Head of Planning & Scheduling- India will lead, monitor and manage a team of schedulers focused on ensuring that our programs and projects are managed and planned according to the contractual requirements along with providing expert consultancy to project managers, and actively oversees the preparation, monitoring, and updating of project schedules using Primavera (P6) software. This position holds substantial decision-making authority, operates with limited supervision, and is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of project planning and scheduling services across the organization.  Cubic’s programs and projects are often highly complex multiyear events that take a strong and experienced scheduler to manage things well, this individual will be responsible for the oversight of these schedulers including maintaining their own program schedules.  Finally, it will be critical for this individual to partner with our Workforce Planning team to ensure alignment on resource management is steady and consistent over the lifetime of the programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that will develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using Primavera (P6) software. This will include:
    • Working alongside project management using Earned Value Management Techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans to stay within approved budgets and limits
    • Partner closely with both engineering and program leadership to track and execute to client deliverables
    • Develop and produce schedules weekly/monthly and ad hoc for clients and internal management review, to include resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk assessments
  • Consult with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Lead and facilitate planning meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment among all parties.
  • Support both Finance and Program Management to ensure project budgets and the relative information is cascaded throughout the organization.
  • Prioritize tasks and initiatives to align with organizational goals.
  • Train and mentor team members on planning and scheduling best practices and Primavera software.
  • Ensure all planning and scheduling activities comply with company policies, procedures, and standards; to include:
    • Participation in internal and external audits
    • Comply with all Cubic’s policies and procedures
    • Support quality expectations and align schedule to meet external expectations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience 7-10 years’ experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field, or work experience equivalent,
  • Prior work experience with Primavera scheduling in a project environment.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
  • Experience in resource allocation, budget production, and progress reporting.
  • Ability to lead meetings and manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis, earned value management, and critical path reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently and handle multiple priorities effectively.
