With campuses in Adelaide, rural South Australia, and the Northern Territory, the University is dedicated to advancing knowledge and making a meaningful impact - locally, nationally, and globally.
Flinders University’s College of Medicine and Public Health is presently seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Head of Medical Biosciences. This is a unique opportunity to drive excellence in research, teaching, and innovation in a rapidly evolving field. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Medical Biosciences will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of the discipline, ensuring it remains at the cutting edge of education and discovery.
Reporting to the Dean (People and Resources) and working closely with senior executives, directors, and discipline leads, the successful candidate will spearhead innovative and interdisciplinary learning and teaching initiatives, foster ground-breaking research collaborations, and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders across the health sector, industry, and academia. This role is integral to shaping the future direction of Medical Biosciences at Flinders University, ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic 2025 Agenda goals, while championing a forward-thinking, inclusive, and high-performing organisational culture.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an inspiring and agile leader, and an acknowledged expert in the field of Medical Biosciences, with a strong track record of academic excellence, research impact, and strategic management. A proven ability to cultivate a robust and respectful organisational culture is essential, as is a commitment to developing both professional and academic staff. This is more than just a leadership role—it is an opportunity to drive real change, shape the future of Medical Biosciences, and make a lasting impact within one of Australia’s most innovative institutions of higher learning. If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge, we invite you to bring your expertise and vision to Flinders University’s College of Medicine and Public Health.
