As part of the Australian Motoring Services Group, Chargefox is Australia’s largest EV charging network, supporting thousands of charging sessions every day across a growing national footprint. We partner with government, energy, fleet, and automotive organisations to enable the transition to cleaner transport.
We’re not just keeping people moving—we’re shaping how Australia moves next, and that’s where our Head of Engineering comes in.
As Head of Engineering, you will provide leadership to a talented engineering team while creating the clarity, structure and direction needed to support the next phase of Chargefox’s growth. Working closely with the CTO, you will help shape the technical roadmap, ensuring the platform remains scalable, secure and reliable as demand continues to increase.
Beyond the technology itself, you will play an important role in bringing people together, fostering collaboration across engineering, product and operations, developing capability within the team, and creating an environment where individuals feel supported to do their best work. Your leadership will help balance innovation with operational excellence, ensuring we continue to deliver a seamless experience for customers while positioning the business for the future.
What you’ll bring
You are an experienced engineering leader who has operated in complex, fast-paced environments and understands what it takes to scale both technology and teams. You bring strong technical depth, with a background in building and operating modern scalable platforms, alongside the ability to make sound architectural decisions. Just as importantly, you are a people-focused leader who knows how to build trust, create alignment, and develop high-performing teams.
You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, bringing structure where it’s needed, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. With a collaborative and pragmatic approach.
Why This Role Matters
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of a business at an exciting stage of growth—where your leadership will influence not just the technology, but how teams come together to deliver it.
You’ll be empowered to make an impact, supported by a broader network, and connected to a mission that’s helping drive Australia’s transition to sustainable mobility.
