Head of D&R Sales Team – Europe Financial Institutions
 

This role is responsible for managing our Data & Research sales specialist team covering European Financial Institutions. The main product area for sales includes Capital IQ Solutions, Feeds, Visible Alpha, Issuer Solutions and Big Dough. This team is responsible for greenfield sales (selling new products into existing accounts, scope expansion) and white space sales (new logos). This team is responsible for partnering with internal stakeholders, such as other MI commercial groups, D&R business teams and customer success, legal etc to drive growth in the European Financials segment. 

This role reports into the global head of sales for Data & Research.

The Team:

The Data & Research European Financials team is organized by region and segment. The team is comprised of skilled sales specialists that utilize a diagnostic approach to understanding customers’ needs and positioning our Data & Research capabilities to fulfill those needs. This is a great opportunity for a growth minded sales manager to build a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the European Financials Sales Specialist Team
  • Drive strong sales growth across greenfield and white space sales
  • Lead monthly forecasting calls with high accuracy
  • Execute on our higher growth targets, including Visible Alpha
  • Create a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork. Act as a culture carrier within S&P Global
  • Empower and develop the regional sales managers within the existing team
  • Continue to develop the existing sales specialist talent across our individual contributors
  • Partner with the European account management team to drive growth with existing accounts
  • Partner with the Chief Client Office to drive growth with the strategic accounts
  • Partner with the Scaled Revenue Solutions team on new product campaigns
  • Generate strong pipeline across the whole Data & Research portfolio
  • Drive go-to-market strategy for European Financials, alongside our product and segment partners
  • Balance internal team engagement with external client meetings
  • Develop c-level relationships with European Financial accounts
  • Work with marketing to identify key external events and thought leadership to drive growth
  • Continue to develop the sales team’s skills for diagnosing customers’ needs utilizing the MEDDIC or MEDDPICC approach

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 15 years of sales leadership experience
  • Prior experience in the financial data and research industry
  • Proven track record of sales management and delivering strong revenue results
  • Senior executive presence
  • Proven record of hiring top performing individual contributors
  • Displays a winning mindset, along with passion and motivation to succeed in competitive markets
  • Open minded, flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations
  • Embraces AI and new ways of developing and advancing the sales process
  • Proficiency in excel and powerpoint
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce and Power BI
  • Additional language fluency is a plus
