Set up our depot strategy and network in the Oceania Area
Role Purpose
The Area Head of Depot Product is responsible for leading the development, pricing, and performance of depot services across New Zealand & Australia. This role translates global and regional product strategies into a locally executable roadmap, ensuring strong commercial performance, customer relevance, and operational excellence.
You will lead a team of depot product specialists while partnering closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Global stakeholders to deliver profitable growth and differentiated logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Product Development
- Define and execute the New Zealand & Australia Depot Product strategy aligned with global Local Services guidelines
- Translate regional strategy into localized product offerings that meet market and customer needs
- Lead development of depot services including:
- Container preparation
- Storage solutions
- Import/export container services
- Stuffing & de-stuffing
- Dedicated depot solutions
- Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, and innovation levers to drive growth
Commercial & Pricing Leadership
- Own area pricing strategy and ensure compliance with global governance frameworks
- Drive value proposition development in partnership with Sales teams
- Support new business acquisition and strategic account growth
- Oversee business cases for new product development and asset investments
Performance & P&L Ownership
- Own Depot Product P&L performance across New Zealand & Australia
- Set and track financial and operational targets, including:
- Revenue and profitability (EBIT, ROIC)
- Unit margins vs. targets
- Productivity metrics
- Ensure delivery of customer satisfaction (NPS) and service excellence
- Monitor and optimize product performance through data-driven insights
Operations & Delivery Oversight
- Ensure depot products are executed with strong operational controls and governance (financial, operational, QHSSE)
- Optimize asset utilization and third-party vendor performance
- Partner with procurement to establish and manage key supplier contracts
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with:
- Area Sales & Customer Experience teams
- Finance and Revenue Management
- Global and Regional Local Services teams
- Operations and Delivery teams
- Act as a subject matter expert in customer engagements and large solution design
Leadership & Team Development
- Build strong product and commercial capabilities within the team
- Foster a data-driven, performance-oriented culture aligned with the Maersk Operating System (MOS)
- Drive engagement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration

What You Bring
Experience
- Strong experience in logistics, container depots, or supply chain product management
- Proven track record in P&L ownership and commercial strategy
- Experience working in complex, matrixed global organizations
