About the Team / Role

WEX Europe Services Ltd are the owner of the Esso Fuel card portfolio, with offices across Europe and the US, are one of Europe’s largest providers of fuel card and mobility payment solutions.

We are looking for a talented Head of Data & Analytics that can drive forward the data insight and reporting across the business and to lead the transformation of our data ecosystem and help scale the next generation of data-driven products and insights across the organisation. This is a key role as you will ensure everyone can use and create value from data throughout our European offices

The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising the organisation’s data architecture, enabling advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and scalable reporting capabilities across both our fuel card and emerging EV mobility platforms.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Data Platform Leadership- Lead the design and implementation of a centralised enterprise data platform, transforming a fragmented data ecosystem into a scalable and governed data architecture that supports analytics, reporting and machine learning.

  • Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modelling- Develop and deploy predictive analytics models using Python and AI tools, with a focus on customer lifecycle analytics including customer churn prediction and retention modelling.

  • Lead the integration of predictive insights into operational systems such as Salesforce, enabling proactive sales engagement and customer retention strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and machine learning solutions to improve decision making, operational efficiency, and customer insights.

  • EV Data & Strategic Partnerships -Lead data integration and reporting for strategic EV data partnerships, including the onboarding and management of 60+ external APIs providing charging, mobility, and transaction data.

  • Build scalable data pipelines and analytics frameworks to support EV mobility reporting and commercial insights.

  • Design and deliver a new EV analytics and reporting suite that enables the business to monitor adoption, performance, and revenue growth within the EV ecosystem.

  • Business Intelligence & Customer Reporting Own the development of the organisation’s customer and commercial reporting capabilities, leveraging modern BI platforms such as ThoughtSpot and Tableau.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to deliver self-service analytics and automated reporting, improving data accessibility across Sales, Finance, and Operations.

  • Continuously evaluate and implement new analytics and AI tools to enhance insight generation and operational decision-making.

  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration -Lead and develop a team of 4 Data Analysts, providing mentorship, guidance, and prioritisation across key business initiatives. Provide leadership across a wider data delivery team including Data Engineers and Data Administration resources, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery across projects.

  • Act as the primary data partner for senior stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Sales, Product, and Technology, translating business requirements into scalable data solutions.

  • Drive a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in analytics, experimentation, and insight generation.

  •  Strategic Data Transformation -Define and deliver the organisation’s data strategy and roadmap, focused on centralisation, automation, and advanced analytics
    Capability.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate manual reporting, and improve data governance across the business.

  • Support senior leadership with strategic analysis, modelling, and insight generation to guide key business decision

Experience you’ll bring

  • Degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Significant experience working with SQL and modern data platforms, with strong understanding of data modelling and pipeline architecture.

  • Hands-on experience developing predictive models using Python, machine learning libraries, and AI tools.

  • Experience working with Business Intelligence platforms such as ThoughtSpot, Power BI or similar.

  • Strong understanding of data integration, APIs, and large-scale data ingestion.

  • Experience leading cross-functional data projects involving Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders.

  • Previous experience managing or mentoring analysts or data teams.

  • Ability to translate complex data problems into clear business solutions and insights.

  • Experience working in Agile, Lean, or product-driven delivery environments.

  • Experience working with financial, payments, or transaction-based datasets would be advantageous.

  • Experience with Salesforce data integrations or CRM analytics would be beneficial.

  • Previous experience of leadership

  • Understanding of working with large amounts of complex data and

  • Experience of working independently and to a high level of accuracy

  • Highly organised and structured in planning and execution of responsibilities

  • Ability to build networks across departments and countries

  • Knowledge of data architecture concepts such as database systems, data leaks etc

  • Data warehouse experience

  • SQL experience

  • Tableau experience
