Head of Agentic AI

This is a rare opportunity for a visionary leader to help define and build a critical part of our global marketing transformation engine. As Head of Agentic AI at VML MAP, WPP's global center of excellence for CRM, loyalty, and personalization,  you will lead the charge in translating agentic AI from experimental technology into scaled, outcome-based transformation for some of the world's most admired brands. This is not a research role or an internal innovation title. You will work directly with CMOs, COOs, and CIOs at enterprise clients, architecting multi-agent systems that redesign how marketing, data, and operations work, with humans in the loop and measurable business outcomes at the center. You will have the backing of VML's global network, WPP Open's platform capabilities, and a senior leadership team committed to redefining an industry.  If you want to build something genuinely transformative and you're ready to do it at scale, this is the role. 

What will your day look like?

• Shaping Executive-Level Strategy & Vision: Directly engaging with C-suite clients (CMOs, COOs, CIOs) to co-create their long-term marketing, data, and operations strategies, positioning agentic AI as the core driver of their future transformation. 

• Orchestrating Global AI Transformation Programs: Defining the strategic roadmap and overseeing the execution of multi-million dollar, multi-year agentic AI programs, ensuring alignment across client organizations and VML's global network to deliver measurable, industry-redefining outcomes. 

• Building & Nurturing Strategic Partnerships: Forging deep relationships with key stakeholders across WPP Open and VML's global ecosystem to unlock cutting-edge capabilities and secure the necessary resources and intellectual capital to deliver groundbreaking client solutions. 

• Defining and Validating Outcome Frameworks: Establishing robust frameworks for measuring the transformative business impact of agentic AI deployments, continually refining strategic approaches based on high-level performance data and market intelligence to ensure continuous value creation. 

• Pioneering the Future of Agentic AI: Acting as a leading voice and architect in the field, influencing industry discourse, identifying emergent opportunities for applying agentic AI at scale, and continually pushing the boundaries of what's possible for some of the world's most admired brands. 

What do you bring to the table?

• Visionary Leadership: Proven track record in leading, scaling, and inspiring high-performing AI/ML teams, ideally within a global or client-facing consultancy environment. 

• Deep Agentic AI Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience and a profound understanding of agentic AI systems, multi-agent frameworks, large language models (LLMs), and related tooling (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI). You understand the nuances of orchestrating autonomous agents to achieve complex goals. 

• Exceptional Client Acumen: A natural ability to engage with, influence, and build strong relationships with senior-level global clients. You can expertly translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions and drive strategic conversations. 

• Strategic & Commercial Mindset: Demonstrated capability to identify, architect, and deliver agentic AI solutions that generate tangible business outcomes, competitive advantage, and significant ROI for clients. 

• Technical Authority: A robust technical background to guide sophisticated development efforts and uphold best practices across our multi-agent workflow implementations. 

• Innovation Driver: A fervent passion for staying at the absolute forefront of AI research, actively evaluating emerging technologies, and pushing the boundaries to develop proprietary agentic IP and methodologies. 

• Global Collaboration & Influence: Experience navigating diverse international business cultures, collaborating effectively with global teams, and influencing strategic direction across multiple markets. You will also be adept at working with and leveraging the wider VML and WPP network to drive integrated solutions and opportunities.
