About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Accounts Services to join our Water Management Division (Part of Genuit Group). This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable and Credit Control functions across multiple entities within the division.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring robust financial controls, efficient transaction processing, and strong cash flow management. You will also act as a trusted partner to finance leaders across the division, delivering timely insights and driving performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a centralised shared services function, champion continuous improvement, and deliver operational excellence across a growing and diverse business.

This role will be located in Doncaster, with our main office being in Edlington, DN12.

Areas of Responsibility

Strategic Leadership & Management

  • Lead, develop and inspire the Accounts Payable and Credit Control teams

  • Set clear objectives, KPIs and service level agreements

  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture

  • Act as the escalation point for complex supplier and customer issues

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable operations across multiple entities

  • Ensure strong controls, including 3-way matching aligned to procurement policy

  • Manage supplier payment cycles to optimise working capital

  • Monitor aged payables, GRNI and accruals for accuracy and completeness

  • Resolve supplier queries and disputes efficiently

  • Provide insight into weekly cash flow forecasting

Credit Control

  • Oversee billing processes to ensure timely and accurate invoicing

  • Drive effective credit control to minimise overdue and bad debt

  • Monitor aged receivables and debtor days, implementing improvements

  • Support credit risk management and credit limit reviews

  • Resolve customer queries and disputes

  • Contribute to accurate weekly cash flow forecasting

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing shared services team

  • Drive succession planning, training and continuous development

  • Set clear expectations and maintain high standards of service and professionalism

Financial Management, Control & Compliance

  • Maintain overall control of AP and Credit Control processes

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal and audit requirements

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring strong outcomes

  • Lead the internal control framework and annual control programme

  • Support international and cross-border financial initiatives

Cash, Working Capital & Treasury

  • Support effective cash and working capital management

  • Monitor bank balances and oversee transaction processing

  • Prepare and process payments in line with approval frameworks

Month-End Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities

  • Review reconciliations (supplier, customer, GRNI and accruals)

  • Provide analysis on cash flow and working capital

  • Support group reporting requirements

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with procurement, supply chain and finance teams

  • Collaborate with finance leaders on cash flow and working capital

  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and customers

  • Deliver clear reporting and insights to senior stakeholders

About You

We are looking for a confident and commercially minded finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience in a Finance Manager or Shared Services leadership role

  • Ideally, experience within a manufacturing or multi-entity environment

  • Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate teams

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior leadership

  • Strong systems knowledge and IT proficiency

  • A flexible, resilient and proactive approach
