What You Will Do
Trimble Military and Advanced Systems is the market leader in high-performance embedded GPS navigation receivers for aviation applications. The Trimble receivers are deeply embedded in inertial navigation subsystems.  As a Hardware Testing Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods for qualification verification testing of these receivers in state-of-the-art GPS test labs. You will support products from initial development to end of life, including conceptualization, proposals, design validation, engineering changes, manufacturing problem resolution, quality issues, and development of outsourced testing requirements.

This will involve:

  • Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test plans, procedures, fixtures, and equipment

  • Develop test automation of procedures, scenarios, equipment, and data analysis. Perform formal periodic test reviews

  • Analyze system behavior under operating scenarios to improve test efficiency and product performance

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and release of test stations and techniques. Define, outline, and perform the training and sustaining activity required to successfully manage test verification programs

  • Document methodology for test requirements, plans, procedures, and results. Develop, draft, release, and maintain test procedures, and perform related Configuration Management activity. Ensure the quality and accuracy of released test documentation

  • Develop and publish product qualification test reports.

What skills & experience you should bring
As well as having strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and being a collaborative, team-oriented contributor with demonstrated ability to think outside the box, along with a proactive, self-starter attitude, you should be able to bring the following:

  • BS or MS in EE, ME, or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Lab experience manipulating signal generators, signal simulators, and signal measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers

  • Programming experience using scripting languages such as Python

  • Data manipulation, screening, organization, and processing experience with Excel and custom programming

  • Track record demonstrating rigorous documentation, record keeping, formal data management, collaboration, and communication skills

  • Be able to obtain a DoD security clearance (essential for consideration).

About Trimble Military & Advanced Systems

Trimble Military and Advanced Systems (TMAS)  is a group within Trimble that specializes in advanced positioning, navigation, and timing technologies primarily serving federal defense agencies. TMAS provides sophisticated Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, modules, and related technical solutions, with a primary focus on military and national security applications.

Compensation:  Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
