The Opportunity:
The Configuration Management Specialist will support the Configuration Management Manager in coordinating and implementing modifications to product designs, processes, and documentation. This role ensures accuracy, traceability, and compliance with configuration management standards, while maintaining data integrity and supporting engineering change processes. The Configuration Management Specialist will review and approve change requests, track progress through the engineering change process, and facilitate communication between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and other stakeholders. The specialist ensures that all product changes are properly documented, controlled, and implemented across the product lifecycle to maintain accuracy, compliance, and traceability.

Responsibilities:

  • Change Control Management: Oversee and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to implement official product modifications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams to ensure proposed changes are properly evaluated and executed.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable records of all changes, ensuring documentation standards are applied throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Process Oversight: Enforce rigorous adherence to the change control process, including analyzing impacts of changes on business processes, manufacturing, sales, and customers.
  • Risk & Impact Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks associated with product changes to prevent downstream quality, schedule, or compliance issues.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all changes meet internal business requirements as well as applicable regulatory and industry standards (e.g., aerospace, defense, medical devices).
  • PLM System Administration: Leverage Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to manage product data, track changes, and facilitate approvals.
  • BOM & Documentation Management: Upload, validate, and release Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related documentation in Infor and other enterprise systems.

Qualifications:

Required

  • BA/BS in related field, additional four years of direct experience may replace education requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management and/or records management, preferably within a similar industry, with a focus on hardware systems.
  • Secret security clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management and records management principles and practices, with a focus on hardware systems.
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools and records management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Configuration Manager (CCM), Certified Records Manager (CRM)) are preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for managing hardware configurations.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$70,800 - $148,600
