The Manager, Patient Access and Affordability Programs is responsible for helping manage and operationalize ViiVConnect financial programs ensuring affordability and access to patients living with HIV or people who could benefit from prevention of HIV through the management of various patient affordability programs. This role will enable patients to get started on the prescribed treatment as quickly as possible while balancing brand performance and organizational goals and objectives. The role will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and ongoing day-to-day management of patient affordability programs provided by third-party partners. We are seeking an experienced collaborator with a solid understanding of patient affordability programs that is passionate about ViiV’s mission.


This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Responsible for managing multiple service providers and vendors providing services for the financial affordability programs as well as overseeing and maintaining high service level standards

  • Collaborate closely with field team members to resolve escalations and collect feedback. Develop and deliver reimbursement and affordability training and materials for field teams

  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report back to Stakeholders with key observations as well as insight driven recommendations for potential improvements and optimizations

  • Drive more efficient use of program budgets by closely monitoring program costs, proactively identifying optimizations as well as building future finance forecasts

  • Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and finance to ensure full compliance with financial access programs

  • Remain current on the external environment, patient access opportunities and challenges, managed care, reimbursement, and policy trends

  • Explore and pursue new technologies and capabilities that help ViiV Healthcare continue to meet the needs of its customers

  • Participate in relevant industry conferences to stay abreast of vendor capabilities, legal/compliance/regulatory requirements and industry/market changes and trends impacting patient services programs (including PAP, Reimbursement, Copay, Coupons and Free Trial Offers)

Why You?

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals

  • Bachelor's degree in business OR healthcare

  • 3 plus years of experience in areas of market access/patient support/copay/patient assistance/reimbursement, and/or finance, including vendor management and experience in patient affordability programs

  • Experience with legal and regulatory environment impacting patient services and financial programs

  • Experience managing patient and provider support hubs and services



Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus

  • MBA or advanced degree.* Vendor management skills and experience

  • Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform strategy

  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment impacting patient services and financial programs along with demonstrated integrity on the job

  • Previous experience managing patient and provider support hubs and services in a compliant manner.

  • Proven success in working within a complex matrix organization

  • Possess strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills

  • Proven project management experience with the ability to direct and manage multiple projects, under pressure, at one time

  • Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity
