About this Role:
Your primary focus as an Ace Handyman Marketing Intern will be in the following areas:
 

Brand Building

As an intern, you will play a key role in amplifying this mission by showcasing the unique value of our Metro Denver franchise. This includes highlighting our commitment to professionalism, integrity, and community engagement through strategic marketing initiatives. You’ll help craft narratives that celebrate our skilled craftsmen, promote our membership program, and position Ace Handyman Services as the go-to resource for quality home improvement. By leveraging social media, local SEO, and referral partnerships, you will contribute to building a strong, recognizable brand presence that drives trust and loyalty in the local market.

Responsibilities

Social Media Content Creation & Management
Collect engaging content from job sites, edit and curate visuals, and publish across social platforms. Assist in managing engagement and fostering community interaction.

Local Social Media Strategy Development
Collaborate on creating a tailored social media strategy for the Metro Denver office, highlighting what makes our franchise distinctive.

Referral Network Management
Maintain and update our referral network, nurture existing relationships, and identify new partnership opportunities to expand our reach.

Membership Pilot Program Support
Contribute to initiatives for a pilot membership program, helping promote offerings that drive customer loyalty. Local SEO & Web Content Maintenance
Keep website content current to improve search visibility and drive conversions, ensuring alignment with local SEO best practices. 

The ideal intern will possess the following:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in the following area(s): Marketing and/or Business Administration
  • Either in or entering Senior year of college (Graduating May ’26, Dec ’26 or May ’27)
  • Proficiency in major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and best practices for content creation
  • Ability to develop and implement social media strategies, with an understanding of engagement metrics and analytics
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and willingness to learn how to optimize web content for conversions
  • Strong relationship-building skills for managing referral networks and partnerships
  • Creative thinking to support marketing initiatives like membership programs and local campaigns
  • Solid understanding of key financials and operations of a small business
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments
  • Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation
  • Must be 18+ years of age

Location Description
This internship is based out of our Lakewood office, supporting the Metro Denver Ace Handyman Services franchise. The role requires frequent off-site visits to job sites for collecting social media content. Interns will also have the flexibility to work remotely as needed when developing content and responding to social media engagement. The balance between time spent in the office and working remotely will vary week to week based on project needs and content collection requirements. 

Internship Program Overview

The Ace Handyman Services Metro Denver internship offers a hands-on marketing experience designed to build practical skills while contributing to a trusted, nationally recognized brand. As a Marketing Intern, you will play an active role in shaping our local presence through social media, digital marketing, and community engagement initiatives. This position provides exposure to small business operations, brand-building strategies, and creative marketing campaigns that drive customer loyalty.

Interns will gain experience in:

  • Collecting and curating social media content from job sites to showcase craftsmanship and brand personality.
  • Developing and implementing a localized social media strategy for the Metro Denver franchise.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives such as a pilot membership program and referral network management.
  • Assisting with local SEO efforts by maintaining web content to improve visibility and conversions.
