Job Summary
The GSC Office Manager is responsible for leading the Global Supply Chain office function at St. Catharines GPS. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient material flow to production, oversees inventory integrity and premium transportation, manages supplier schedules and related systems, and leads the GSC office team. The GSC Office Manager acts as the key interface between plant operations, central GSC, logistics providers, and suppliers to support safe, on-time, and cost-effective production.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Compliance & Environment
Ensure completion and reinforcement of all required health & safety, dangerous goods, and emergency response training for self and GSC office team (e.g., DOT/TDG, plant H&S policies, ergonomics, PPE, safety observation tours, ESCP/SIR/SOP).
Maintain compliance with Dangerous Goods shipping requirements for cells, modules, and packs, including documentation, certification, audits, and training renewals.
Lead or support workplace organization (5S/WPO) and environmental requirements for the GSC office and docks (waste segregation, recycling tracking, spill prevention).
Ensure adherence to ILM, CSA, and corporate policy requirements for records, document control, and data security.
Quality, Problem Solving & Process Control
Ensure GMS / GMAS process compliance, including standardized work (STS/TIS/JES/SOS), BIQ elements, BPD, and problem-solving processes (SPPS, PPS/SPPS, PTR/EWO/SPCR/BTAB as applicable).
Own or support SPPS issuance and follow-up for packaging, labeling, shipping, EDI, and other supply chain non-conformances; audit open SPPS and drive supplier corrective actions.
Lead or support investigations and corrective actions for operational issues (e.g., shortages, mis-shipments, inventory discrepancies, schedule errors, premium freight events).
Cost, Inventory & Premium Transportation
Own or co-own inventory accuracy and reconciliation, including daily/weekly discrepancy investigation, high precision counts, quarterly counts, adjustments, and coordination with Finance.
Develop and explain inventory value forecasts, obsolescence plans, and year-end inventory budgets; support corporate and sector reviews.
Approve and track premium freight, accessorial charges, detention/TONU and related KPIs; participate in transportation KPI calls and logistics performance reviews.
Oversee recycling, scrap, and excess/obsolete material management processes in alignment with cost and environmental targets.
Responsiveness, Scheduling & Systems
Lead or coordinate supplier scheduling and EDI activities in MGO/MGO-C (and related tools), including updating supplier schedules (MS8P1100), adjusting YTD plan CUM, and aligning 40-week and daily plans to the latest operating plan.
Manage customer order activities in MGO-C, including adding orders, correcting rejects, running global jobs, and ensuring shipping requirements are supported.
Provide plant-level leadership on material Op Plan, production plan, and responsiveness metrics (Impacts/BTP/MRA/OBS), ensuring supply supports build schedules and minimizing disruptions.
Serve as local owner for key GSC systems (e.g., MGO/MGO-C, Flexnet, GEPICS, container portals, EPS, SPPS, ITOM reports), including access control, troubleshooting, and coordination with SMEs and central teams.
Governance, Meetings & Cross-Functional Interface
Represent GSC office in key plant and sector forums (e.g., GSC office/team meetings, GSC Manager calls, transportation KPI calls, BPD reviews, SLT/basketweave, site scheduling and staff meetings).
Prepare and maintain GSC performance dashboards and scorecards (cost, responsiveness, inventory, premium freight, safety) using Power BI and other tools; drive follow-up on gaps and countermeasures.
Ensure standardized work (STS/TIS) for GSC office roles is current, signed, stored, and audited; lead periodic review and improvement of tasks and time allocations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in materials management / supply chain within an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally including office manager, scheduler, PFEP, or logistics responsibilities.
Proven experience leading teams and driving performance across safety, quality, cost, and responsiveness metrics.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of GSC systems and tools, such as MGO/MGO-C, Flexnet, GEPICS, EPS, SPPS, ITOM reporting, and related GM portals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI, Outlook, Teams, Word) for analysis, reporting, and communication.
Familiarity with GMS/GMAS, BIQ, BPD, PFMEA/MFMEA, and standardized work systems (STS/TIS/JES/SOS).
Knowledge of Dangerous Goods/TDG, export compliance, and transportation/logistics processes is an asset.
Leadership & Behavioral Competencies

Demonstrated people leadership capabilities: coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and developing talent.

High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $97,800.00 to $146,600.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
