Your Impact

This is a phenomenal chance to create a significant positive impact by helping Vanguard enable our core and strategic business initiatives as part of the Global Risk and Security Vendor Management Office (VMO). You will manage vendors through the full third-party lifecycle, including negotiations, onboarding, contracting, financial planning, and terminations. You will also collaborate closely with our GR&S Product Owners to purchase and renew risk and security services.

What We’re Looking For:

 

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in contract lifecycle management, financial planning, budgeting, and cost optimization related to vendor engagements.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Risk, Cybersecurity, and Technology teams to support vendor onboarding, performance management, and issue resolution.

Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of negotiating, managing, and renewing contracts with cybersecurity, risk, and information technology vendors.

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations impacting third-party relationships (e.g., data privacy, information security, and risk governance).

  • Understanding of vendor risk domains, including operational, financial, information security, and compliance risk.

Skills

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess vendor performance, financial impacts, and risk exposure.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple vendors, contracts, and priorities simultaneously.


 

Expertise

  • Strong understanding of industry-leading third-party risk management (TPRM) frameworks and best practices.

  • Expertise in contract management processes, including drafting requirements, renewals, amendments, service-level agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics.

  • Ability to identify process improvements and drive efficiencies across vendor management and governance activities.

Vendor Management Specialist role:

  • Lead the acquisition, management, and maintenance for cybersecurity, risk management, and enterprise resiliency vendors with moderate to high scope and complexity.

  • Analyze data to perform comparative evaluations of vendors, ensuring Vanguard acquires the highest value and expected return for its investment in vendor contracts.

  • Oversee and supervise the ongoing financial, operational, performance, and risk health of a subset of risk and security vendors.

  • Contribute to the development of RFPs for specific services or products and invite vendors to respond with proposals.

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Five years of related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
