The Groups Pastor provides strategic and pastoral leadership for the Groups Ministry at the campus, serving under the direction of the Campus Pastor. This role requires a high level of pastoral care, organizational leadership, and effective communication, as it oversees group systems, workflows, budgets, staff, and volunteers.
The Groups Pastor is responsible for the vision, planning, and oversight of all group environments, ensuring healthy, life-giving groups that align with Gateway Church’s mission and DNA. This leader will recruit, equip, and release Group Leaders as well as Section and Zone Leaders, fostering a culture of discipleship, leadership development, and spiritual growth.
In addition to administrative and leadership responsibilities, this role provides direct pastoral ministry to the congregation, including biblical counseling and shepherding care. The Groups Pastor also serves as a pastoral support to the campus, partnering with campus leadership to strengthen community, care, and connection across the church.
A thorough understanding of Gateway Church’s ministries, processes, and policies is essential in order to cultivate consistency, excellence, and alignment with Gateway’s values and culture.
