Group Reporting & Analysis Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, the Group Board pack and all associated schedules
  • Preparation of half-year and year-end close and related external reporting, ensuring quality, robustness and reconciliation between management and statutory accounts
  • Delivery of timely and accurate management information for the CFO and other key stakeholders, often to tight deadlines with a need for a high level of accuracy
  • Leading Group planning processes throughout the year, including monthly demand plan forecasts, quarterly financial forecasts and annual budget, supporting Divisional and Central Finance teams as required, ensuring submissions are finalised on time and in full
  • Drive system and process improvements across multiple workstreams
  • Maintain the integrity of financial reporting systems and master data
  • Ensure strong Group reporting service levels by adhering to key business controls across the systems and teams, and managing the expectation of key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication as to responsibilities, timescales and output following a ‘right first time’ approach
  • Act as a business partner to the Divisional Finance teams and Senior Management, reviewing and challenging information provided to ensure rigour, consistency and compliance with internal accounting and reporting policies
  • Be the team’s BW subject matter expert to support all Group planning and reporting workstreams
  • Provide information in relation to the Year End External Audit and be a key contact for answering and clearing audit queries
  • Ensure confidentiality is always maintained due to the nature and sensitivity of data reported
  • Have a working knowledge of key responsibilities of other members of the Group Planning & Reporting team, so that team absences are managed without significant disruption to service provided to the business

  • No significant errors in Actual, Forecast and Budget reporting.
  • Demonstrable systems and reporting improvements in Group financial planning and reporting processes.
  • Accurate and timely completion of weekly and monthly Group reporting activities and processes within the Financial Year calendar.
  • Key stakeholder satisfaction, effective business partnering and strong working relationships.

  • Accurate reporting of the Group’s Actual results, Forecasts and Budgets

Technical Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written). No other languages required.
  • Highly skilled in use of relevant financial reporting and analysis systems and tools and be someone who wants to apply their systems skills and knowledge, including:
    - Advanced user of Microsoft Excel with the ability to capture and interpret large data sets from multiple sources
  • - Highly proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint

    - Experience of Hyperion Financial Management is preferred but not essential

  • Capable of effectively presenting management information to both Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders.
