Job Description:

Operating as a senior individual contributor, this role will support and provide guidance across a team of Senior Investigators. This role is responsible for leading complex, high-risk investigations and serving as a subject matter expert requiring advanced judgement, discretion, and cross-functional coordination.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Act as a senior investigative subject matter expert, ensuring investigations adhere to established policies, and investigative best practices. Serve as a working lead on assigned complex cases, providing advanced analysis, sound judgment, and clear investigative best practices
  • Provide mentorship and investigative guidance to Senior Investigators, offering expertise on investigative steps, risk assessments, and case strategy while supporting the team in a leadership capacity.
  • Apply sound methodologies to collect, preserve, and analyze evidence while staying current on global emerging technology threats
  • Collect evidence from computers, laptops, phones, iPads, databases, and a variety of other devices/systems capable of storing valuable electronic data.
  • Work effectively with counterparts at other FI’s, law enforcement and others in the judicial system to maximize opportunities for the recovery of assets and to reduce TDBFG exposure
  • Conduct investigations in a professional and timely manner
  • Assess and prioritize files and investigate assigned cases ensuring proper protocols are in place and effectively applied
  • Identify reported incidents promptly and take appropriate action to minimize potential losses.
  • Maintain strong awareness of emerging risks, trends, fraud typologies, insider threat indicators, and investigative techniques, and proactively share insights with leadership.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of investigative processes, tools, and frameworks, including identification of procedural gaps or system limitations, including participation in root cause (PIR) as required.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. HR, Legal, Compliance) to support investigation outcomes; escalating matters and recommendations through the Senior Manager where required
  • Representing the Bank in internal forums, and where required, external proceedings related to assigned investigations.
  • Provides delegated leadership coverage for the Senior Manager
  • Supports the onboarding and capability uplift by sharing expertise on complex case handling, escalation management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support key initiatives, pilots, or projects assigned by the Senior Manager

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Education and Accreditations

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 5+ years relevant experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires travel within Ontario, and a personal vehicle is required.  The successful applicant must reside within the Greater Toronto Region.
